ALLEN PARK – A teacher at St. Frances Cabrini High School has been suspended following allegations of an inappropriate relationship with a student.

Cabrini Pastor the Rev. Joseph Mallia sent a letter home to parents of children in the parish’s schools May 26 concerning the allegations, which involve an unnamed teacher and student at the high school.

In the letter, Mallia told parents the teacher was not offered a contract for the 2011-12 school year and was suspended for the remainder of the school year. He also said the matter was turned over to the Allen Park Police Department.

“Your parish and school leadership take these matters very seriously and remain vigilant in providing a safe environment for all our students,” the letter said. “We rely on our faculty, staff members and our school parents to report suspicious behavior to us.”
