Rev. Drew Tomberlin Jr.

DEARBORN — The Rev. Drew Tomberlin Jr. of Dearborn recently received his doctor of ministry degree at the Methodist Theological School in Delaware, Ohio. Tomberlin was joined by friends and family from Michigan, Ohio and Idaho for the commencement ceremonies.

Tomberlin’s doctoral project, “The ‘Great Commission’: A Guide to Strategic Planning,” represented the culmination of several years of work towards his doctor of ministry degree. Currently in the process of changing pastorates, Tomberlin previously served Bremen-Bethel Presbyterian Church in Bremen, Ohio, the Presbyterian United Church of Christ in Le Mars, Iowa, and Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church in Dearborn.

Tomberlin credited members from each of these churches with encouraging and supporting his efforts.

An ordained minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church (USA), Tomberlin received his master of divinity degree from Columbia Theological Seminary in Decatur, Ga. He has 24 years experience with 14 years in chaplaincy and 10 years in parish ministry.

Tomberlin and his wife, Kim, are active in the local community and supporters of the Dearborn Animal Shelter.
