Jazz On The Ave hits the stage

DEARBORN — The first of six East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority Jazz On The Ave concerts hits the stage at 7 p.m. Wednesday in City Hall Park, 13615 Michigan Ave.

Alexander Zonjic & Friends will perform from 7 to 9 p.m. as the opening act in the EDDDA’s signature summer event.

The free concerts are held from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesdays through Aug. 24. Viewers are welcome to take lawn chairs or blankets. Several nearby restaurants will be open for dine-in or carryout before the concerts.

Remaining concerts at Jazz On The Ave are:

• July 20 — Universal Xpression.

• July 27 — Lin Rountree.

• Aug. 10 — Straight Ahead.

• Aug. 17 — Urban Jazz Collection.

• Aug. 24 — Alexander Zonjic All Stars, with special guests to be announced.
