July 15, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

The Dearborn Heights Chamber of Commerce inducted Lynne Killion from PostNet Dearborn as the new president for the 2011-12 Chamber year at an official installation ceremony during its annual member meeting on June 23.

As president, Killion will coordinate the activities and projects of the Dearborn Heights Chamber which has more than 150 members. Regular Small Business Luncheons take place the second Tuesday of each month at varying member locations. The chamber also offers quarterly business educational opportunities as well as networking events within their membership and with other neighboring chambers.

Killion says that her goals for the coming year are:

• To strengthen the chamber’s relationship with the city’s Tax Increment Financing Authority and Community and Economic Development departments

• To expand the chamber Ambassador Committee designed to integrate new members and enhance member development

• To increase partnerships with the neighboring Dearborn Chamber as we continue to finalize the integration of both organizations

The Dearborn Heights Chamber motto is “Bringing Business and Community Together.” As local leaders and volunteers, chamber members are committed to improving their local communities while strengthening their own businesses. Members are recognized nationwide as part of an organization with business excellence.

The chamber has an aggressive calendar for the coming year as well as discounted advertising opportunities, negotiated vendor contracts and valuable networking events for its members. The chamber is accepting new member applications from local business owners. For more information go to www.DearbornHeightsChamber.com or contact the office at (313) 274-7480.
