DEARBORN – The city’s Senior Services Division will host a variety of helpful activities in the next few months.
Benefits checkup July 21
Senior Services will join with the Senior Alliance to host a Benefits Checkup Day from 9:30 a.m. to noon Thursday.
This free event takes place in the Senior Center at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
The checkup provides a personalized report with detailed descriptions on public programs, services and resources that older adults may not know that they are qualified to receive.

Dearborn Travel Club
The Dearborn Travel Club in conjunction with the Michigan Recreation and Park Association presents the 44th Annual Mackinac Island trip from Oct. 21 through 24. Accommodations will be at the historic Grand Hotel. For more information call (313) 943-2385.
Bunco Party on July 28
A Bunco Party will be held at 11:30 a.m. July 28 at the Ford Community & Performing Art Center, 15801 Michigan Ave. Prizes, snacks, pizza and pop are included in the $5 admission fee. Space is limited. To register, call (313) 943-2412.
Tennis Mondays and Fridays
The Ford Woods tennis courts at Ford Road and Greenfield will be open for friendly games of tennis from 9 a.m. – 11 a.m. Mondays and Fridays through Oct. 28. No fees are required. Drop in and pick up a game of tennis.
Senior Olympics
The Seventh Annual Western Wayne County Senior Olympics is being hosted at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.
The events take place the week of Aug. 15.
Seniors will be able to compete for gold, silver and bronze medals in five age categories. Events include: opening ceremony, baking contest, 10-mile biking race, art, table tennis, creative writing, fun walk, 5K run, softball throw, tennis, golf, bridge, volleyball, shuffleboard, swimming, billiards, bowling, ballroom dancing and awards banquet.
Advance registration is required. Packets can be picked up from the Dearborn Senior Center. Participants must be 50 years or older.
