LINCOLN PARK – The April shooting death of a man in a Fort Street Parking lot appears headed for a September jury trail.

Shannon Maurice Henderson, 34, stands accused of the April 24 murder of Adrian Deshaun Bell.

According to the prosecution, Henderson was seen earlier that day arguing with Bell and allegedly shot him in a parking lot near White Castle, 2115 Fort St. Bell stumbled into the restaurant seeking help, and first responders transported him to Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn, where he soon died of his injuries.

Henderson is charged with first-degree murder, a felony carrying mandatory life imprisonment. Henderson faces additional charges of felony use of a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm, both two-year felonies, and is also charged as a fourth-time habitual offender.

A motion hearing last week was adjourned by the court, and Henderson next faces a final conference Aug. 25 before a jury trial, scheduled to begin Sept. 6.
