Dearborn Outer Drive Kiwanis repeated their Turbo Turtle Derby for the fourth year of Homecoming, tossing 1500 “adopted” turtles off the covered bridge into the Rouge River, while a packed bridge and finish line of spectators cheered the turtles on. The top two turtles that crossed the finish line won a thousand dollars and five hundred dollars. Sponsored by Village Ford and Memberfocus credit union, the proceeds will go to fund the Dictionary Project and Safety Town here in Dearborn.
