LINCOLN PARK – The anticipated jury trial for the April shooting death of a man in a Fort Street parking lot is set to begin Oct. 3 before Wayne County Third Judicial Circuit Court Judge James Callahan.
Shannon Maurice Henderson, 34, stands accused of the April 24 murder of Adrian Deshaun Bell. Prosecutors allege that Henderson was seen arguing earlier that day with Bell, and shot him that evening in a parking lot near White Castle, 2115 Fort St. Bell stumbled into the restaurant for help, and died after being transported to Oakwood Hospital & Medical Center in Dearborn.
Henderson is charged with first-degree murder, a felony carrying mandatory life imprisonment. Henderson faces additional charges of felony use of a firearm and felon in possession of a firearm, both two-year felonies, and is also charged as a fourth-time habitual offender.
Jurors were selected last week by Assistant Prosecutor Raj Prasad and defense attorney Arlene F. Woods of Southfield.
