DCAC perks up Sundays with artful experiences

October 15, 2011 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — The Dearborn Community Arts Council presents monthly, family-oriented “Experience the Arts” sessions Sundays through June 10 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

Each session — from 3 to 5 p.m. — gives families an opportunity to sample some aspect of the arts they might not otherwise have the ability to come in contact with.

The schedule is:

• Nov. 13, Christmas Crafts — make that special gift, holiday decorating.

• Jan. 8, Pottery — with Village Potters Guild artisans.

• Feb. 12, Photography – how to use your own camera; experienced photographers instructing.

• March 11, Brass Instruments – Motor City Brass Band concert.

• April 15, “Color Me” – experience all the arts through color.

• May 13, “So You Think You Want to be a Writer?” — workshop with Anne Gautreau

• June 10, Plein Air Art – outdoors with the Artist Society of Dearborn.

The cost is $ 10 per person or $32 for a family of four per session.
