Students from Patricia Hartshorn’s biological sciences class at the University of Michigan-Dearborn tested the Rouge River at Ford Field Oct. 8. The students performed various tests on the river, looking for any harmful elements that could be in the water. Sponsored for the last 25 years by the non-profit Friends of the Rouge, students from area middle schools, high schools and colleges twice a year test the water as part of their class curriculum. Elva Bardhi (left), Maddy Mollison and Tura Stoltz go over their test results with Rouge Education Project Assistant Program Manager Aimee Kalisz.
