Playoff football activity is upon us. The good news is that two Dearborn prep teams, Fordson (5-4) and Dearborn (7-2), continue to see action on the gridiron.
However, the bad news is, both city teams found themselves playing each other last Friday night at the Dearborn High School Stadium. In earlier regular season competition, the Tractors were able to knock off their cross-town rivals.
Questions that mattered in the outcome of these two high schools clashing are as follows: Will things be different when these teams have their rematch contest? Can the Tractors, repeat the beat? Or will the Pioneers end up on the heavy end of the final score?
Fordson coach Fouad Zaban expressed his thoughts about playing in the playoffs during practice last week. He said
“I see playoff football as a big challenge for us to play well and hopefully win. No matter what happens, it will be fun.”
Only one of these two teams could win this game, so at least one thing is for sure, a high school representing the city of Dearborn will advance further into the playoffs of Region #4 & District #1. The Fordson/DHS winner will play the winner of the Detroit Cass Tech vs. Livonia Churchill game Friday night
Both Edsel Ford and Divine Child had to sit out this season’s playoff competition based on their football records.
