DEARBORN – Two men were arrested Feb. 2 in connection with a Dec. 25 crash that killed a Dearborn woman and left another injured.

Yaken Al-Ghathie, 20, was arrested by Dearborn police and arraigned before 19th District Court Judge Mark Somers on charges of second degree murder and reckless driving causing death following the collision, that left 22-year-old Eitedal Al-Gaithi dead and her sister, 21-year-old Amian Alammare, in critical condition.

His brother, Saber Al-Ghathie, 17, also was arrested by Dearborn police.

The victims were attending a wedding at Greenfield Manor, 4770 Greenfield Road, when the 2009 Jeep they were driving was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Cobalt and crashed into 3 Nicks Sports Bar, killing Eitedal instantly.

A preliminary examination based on the evidence against Yaken Al-Ghathie is scheduled for 9 a.m. Feb. 17 before Somers.
