The Dearborn Community Arts Council hosted the 24th annual Mayor’s Arts Awards, founded by the council and late Mayor Michael Guido in 1988. The Feb. 8 ceremony, which included performances by the PRYSM School of the Arts, the Dearborn High Thespians and a film clip by the Dearborn High School Film and Video program, recognized members of the community who support fine and performing arts in education or community efforts. During the event, Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. (right) presents the Mayor’s Art Award, the most prestigious honor of the ceremony, and one of the few selected by the Mayor, to Greg Viscomi, theater director for Dearborn Public Schools.
