Police in three cities are looking for three men suspected in a string of armed robberies in the past month.
The robberies at bars in Wyandotte, Southgate and Dearborn, seem to have been committed by the same suspects, which police believe are two white men and one black man wearing hooded sweatshirts and ski masks and standing less than 6 feet tall.
At 10:15 p.m. on Feb 7, three heavily armed men held up the Bronco Lounge located at 4025 Maple St. in Dearborn and made up with an undisclosed amount.
Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad said his department are continuing to work with all law enforcement agencies to pursue all leads.
The suspects, armed with two rifles and a handgun, hit Quit-N-Time Bar, 3353 Fort St., about 10:30 p.m. Feb. 17. They fired shots at the ceiling and were in the bar for less than two minutes before fleeing out of the bar’s back door, but made off with a cash box containing thousands of dollars and injured several customers and employees.
“It got pretty violent,” Wyandotte Police Chief Dan Grant said. “They threw a barmaid down, drug her by her hair, aimed a gun at a few people’s heads … they were pretty violent in their actions.”
In Southgate, four armed men reportedly forced their way into 3 Nick’s Tap Room, 14594 Eureka Road, shortly before 3 a.m. Jan. 30. Surveillance images show the four rummaging through the bar area and breaking into an ATM.
Southgate Det. Lt. Edward Sukel was unavailable for comment prior to press time.
