March 31, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

TAYLOR — A fatal collision resulted in the death of a 44-year-old Lincoln Park man, police reported.

A 1997 Chevrolet pickup truck reportedly rear-ended a semi truck that was pulled over due to trailer problems near Eureka Road.

The pickup truck driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The man’s identity was not released by press time.

Alcohol was not believed to be the cause of the accident, which closed southbound I-75 for about three hours Wednesday. Two additional vehicles were involved in the crash, with no injuries reported.

The driver of the truck was not injured, and both drivers were wearing seat belts.

Anyone with information on the crash is asked to call (248) 584-5740.
