April 28, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

WASHINGTON — U.S. Rep. John Dingell received the 2012 Congressional Service Award from the Police Officers Association of Michigan April 25.

The award is presented annually to members of Congress who the POAM feel have portrayed exemplary leadership in support of the law enforcement community.

“Your dedication and tireless efforts to protect our families and secure the safety of our homeland is an inspiration to us all,” POAM Legislative Director Kenneth E. Grabowski told Dingell when presenting the award.

“I am grateful to the Police Officers Association of Michigan for presenting me with the 2012 Congressional Service Award today,” Dingell said. I appreciate being honored by true heroes who put their lives on the line every day. I am committed to serving Michigan’s law enforcement agencies, and I value your service to protect Michigan communities.”
