A local man was arrested April 25 after allegedly stealing donation jars from almost a dozen business along Ford Road in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights, according to published reports.

Police said tips by WDIV Channel 4 viewers helped police make an arrest, according to the report.

The suspect, who was not identified by the police at press time, faces larceny charges in Dearborn and Dearborn Heights.

A surveillance video camera from a sub shop showed a man leaving his two-door Honda Sedan, according to the report. Once he was inside the shop, he escaped with a canister of cash when the cashier turned his back. The money stolen was for the Sadr Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides assistance for children in need.

Representatives from the Dearborn Police Department did not respond to calls for this story by press time.
