The Dearborn Farmers and Artisans Market is back in business for its fifth season, hosting its opening Friday in the parking lot behind Byrant Library, 22100 Michigan Ave. The market, which sells Michigan-based products including fruits, cheeses and produce, is open between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. on Fridays through Oct. 26. The market will also be open from 4 to 7 p.m. June 19 and July 17 to August 21. Mumby Pie Co. owner John Carpenter shows off his handcrafted pies during the market opening. Carpenter ran a booth at last season’s market and said people like fresh pies.
