DEARBORN — Ali Moussa, owner of Dimitri’s Restaurant, recently presented a check for $1,550 to the Dearborn Goodfellows.
Dimitri’s annually provides a free dinner to its customers in appreciation of their patronage with donations from the dinner going to the Goodfellows. Moussa, a member of the Goodfellows Board of Directors, also has a collection jar at the restaurant year round with donations going to the Goodfellows.
Also, mechanical Heating & Cooling donated a high efficiency furnace that will be raffled during the Goodfellows’ annual Smoke on the Grill fundraiser, which will be held Sept. 27 at Ford Field Park. The furnace is valued at $5,000. Tickets are $5, and only 1,000 tickets will be sold.
To purchase raffle tickets or volunteer for the Goodfellows, call President Larry Johnson at 313-310-4246 or Executive Director John Allevato at 313-563-0096.
The Goodfellows, with the motto “No Dearborn child without a Christmas,” provides year round support for needy Dearborn children facing hardships or emergencies.
