Dorothy Wolfe (left), Ruth Bardon, Leah Jean Wolfe, Edith Loverich and Marie Bush celebrate their birthdays at a family reunion in July.
DEARBORN ā Resident Dorothy Wolfe, 98, was among 100 members of the Wolf(e) family that met at an unusual family reunion in Upper Sandusky, Ohio, July 15. The reunion celebrated birthdays of six family members aged 90 or above.
Wolfe celebrated with sisters Marie Bush, 95, of Edison, Ohio, Edith Loverich, 93, of Valparasio, Ind., and Ruth Bardon, 92, of Upper Sandusky. The sisters enjoyed the opportunity to be together.
Other family members also above 90 include Leah Jean, 93, of Upper Sandusky, who married into the family as the wife of the late Donald Wolfe and Monnie Wolfe, 90, of Upper Sandusky, who was unable to attend the party. She married into the family as the wife of the late Edwin Wolfe.
Dorothy Wolfe was an English teacher at Dearborn High School for more than 30 years.
A special time of sharing memories along with a time for family members to ask questions of the nonagenarians provided entertainment for the afternoon.
Many bits of wisdom were passed along. One of the discussions focused on how it came about that only one brother added the āeā to the end of Wolfe/Wolf and the evolution from Wolff to Wolf to Wolfe.
