August 26, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

SOUTHGATE — A joint effort by two police agencies resulted the arrest Aug. 17 of a 21-year-old Taylor man suspected of several Downriver car break-ins, and more than 20 in Farmington Hills.

The suspect was taken into custody by Southgate Police, who were tipped about the sale of stolen merchandise. During a week’s worth of car break-ins the suspect allegedly stole Global Positioning System units, purses, golf clubs, a tent and other items from unlocked cars in a Farmington Hills subdivision.

The suspect was awaiting arraignment on a variety of charges including receiving and concealing stolen property. Additional investigations continue related to other thefts.
