GFWC-Dearborn is looking for new members

September 2, 2012 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — The General Federation of Women’s Clubs-Dearborn begins its 85 year at noon Sept. 10 with its first meeting of the season at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 25535 Ford Road in Dearborn Heights.

Like many volunteer organizations there is always room for new members, club official said. The club meets at noon the second Tuesday of the month, from September through May, at the church.

The club, part of a national and international movement, was organized in 1927. Its mission is to enhance the community and the lives of others through volunteer services.

One of the club’s biggest projects is the support of Girlstown Foundation, a statewide GFWC-Michigan initiative.

More information about GFWC-D, membership options and programs is available by calling 313-336-3977.
