LINCOLN PARK— Police are looking for an armed robber last seen with a bag of money taken Monday from the Charter One bank branch inside Kroger, 2060 Dix-Toledo.
Police were called to the store shortly before 3 p.m. by bank officials, who described a white man, approximately 30 years old, medium height and build, that approached a teller and demanded money.
“This is a robbery, give me all your hundreds,” police reported the man as saying. Although no gun was shown to the teller, the barrel of a weapon was seen sticking out of the man’s jacket.
Bank employees activated the alarm and included a dye pack in a bundle of $50 bills.
Kroger employees who were on break outside of the store told police they saw the suspect leave the store, noticed a bulge in his jacket and suspected a theft. The store workers began approaching the man just as the dye pack exploded, and blue currency fell to the ground. The suspect took off through the parking lot and across Dix.
Police took a complete description of the man, and reviewed surveillance video with loss prevention officials.
Police are asking anyone with information to call 313-381-8378.
