The weekends of Oct. 12 to 14, 19 to 21 and 26 to 28 are reserved for the themed camping weekends.
Halloween Weekends offer families an opportunity to expand on the fun and atmosphere of Halloween by booking a tent, cabin or RV site for a weekend filled with activities in a safe environment. New this year are the popular resort cabins with full bathroom facilities.
Campers will receive one pumpkin at check-in Friday afternoon to carve and enter in a contest. Additional pumpkins will be available for purchase and campsites will be allowed multiple entries in the contest.
Campers are invited to take part in all scheduled activities at no additional cost. Campsite decorating is strongly encouraged to set the mood and will be judged for prizes.
The schedule for the three weekends is:
• 3 p.m. check-in
• 8 p.m. magic show by Tom Plunkard
• 9 to 10:30 p.m. haunted house
• 11:30 a.m. pumpkin contest
• 1 to 3 p.m. games
• 2:30 to 4 p.m. hayrides
• 5 p.m. costume parade ending with a contest for best costumes (competition will be broken into age groups)
• 6:30 to 8 p.m. trick-or-treating (no driving during this period)
Campers should take candy for trick-or-treaters and a few things that might be collected in the scavenger hunt.
