DEARBORN – Funding Opportunities & Resources in Education hit its mark again this year by raising more than $91,000 for the Dearborn Education Foundation at its annual F.O.R.E. Dearborn golf outing Sept. 30 at the TPC of Michigan.

“This is a tremendous amount of money that will directly impact the classrooms, teachers and more importantly the students of Dearborn Public Schools,” DEF Executive Director Eddie Fakhoury said.

“Everyone will agree that fundraising today is not easy,” DEF Chairman Brian Mosallam said. “In my opinion, that is not the only thing we do though. Eddie Fakhoury has led the charge in making sure that partnerships are created and long-term relationships are being built.

“This event is a perfect example of the confidence our community, corporate supporters and donors have in us. To accomplish raising over $90,000 two years in a row from an outing that use to generate around $36,000 is proof. It’s also showcased by the wonderful investment of time that our mayor and superintendent extend to this event.”

“It is agreed that a lot goes into making this event a success,” Fakhoury said. “However, it’s through the investment our community, sponsors, and individual donors make in the Dearborn Education Foundation that allows for this event to reach the success it has.”

Fakhoury thanked the more than 70 sponsors of the event.

The Dearborn Education Foundation is a charitable 501(c) organization and was created in 1992 by a group of private citizens to serve Dearborn Public Schools. All donations made are 100 percent tax deductible. The foundation has raised and returned more than $1.4 million to the schools through teacher grant requests.
