Miller Vein offers free ultrasound screenings

January 20, 2013 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN — Miller Vein is offering free ultrasound screenings of legs through February at its Dearborn office as well as its Troy and recently opened Monroe offices.

“Many people are unaware that they have a medical problem that can be easily treated and is often covered by insurance,” said Dr. Jeffrey Miller, who founded Miller Vein in 2006. “We are really trying to get the public informed about varicose veins and related symptoms.”

Miller said people may have venous insufficiency if they have any of these leg symptoms: pain or aching, swelling, heaviness or fatigue, itchy veins, varicose veins, night cramps, restless legs and non-healing ulcers.

For a screening, call 248-247-7920.

If people are found to have venous insufficiency they can choose to undergo a non-invasive, in-office procedure at Miller Vein which features no down time and often is covered by insurance, Miller said. Surgery isn’t needed, and patients are walking immediately afterward, he said.

Miller Vein’s physicians are board certified. Miller said there are myths and misconceptions related to varicose and spider veins and Miller Vein’s doctors are eager to share their knowledge.
