Mayor’s Arts Awards presented Feb. 13

DEARBORN — Four people are among the recipients who will be honored at the 2013 Mayor’s Arts Awards at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 13 at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center.

Linda Lukens will receive the Artist/Performer Award; Catherine Prowse, the Arts Educator Award; Mary Beth Oravec, the Volunteer Award; and Bob Varty, the Dearborn Community Arts Council Bravo Award.

Also, Vanguard Voices will receive the Arts Organization Award; the Dearborn Education Foundation, the Arts Patron Award; and the East Dearborn Downtown Development Authority, the Mayor’s Award Honoree.

The public is invited; admission is free.

The award ceremony will be highlighted by performances by operatic soprano Brittania Tallori, the Edsel Ford High School Choir and the Maples Elementary School Music Ensemble & Drum Line.
