DEARBORN — Several people were appointed recently to positions on boards affiliated with the Oakwood Healthcare System.
Ronald Hall Jr., of West Bloomfield, was appointed to the Oakwood Healthcare Inc. board, effective Jan. 1. Hall currently is vice president and general counsel for Bridgewater Interiors, LLC. A graduate of West Point, he earned his law degree from the University of Michigan.
Dr. Christopher DeAngelis, of Grosse Ile, was appointed to the Oakwood Heathcare System board, also effective Jan. 1. DeAngelis is a former member of the Oakwood Southshore Medical Center Board of Trustees.
He is a practicing internist in Woodhaven at Mainstreet Internal Medicine, a recent graduate of the Oakwood Physician Leadership Academy, and a member of the Manpower Planning Steering Committee at Oakwood. DeAngelis lives on Grosse Ile with his wife, Lisa, and three sons.
Dr. Ram Prasad, a Birmingham resident and former OHS Board member, also was appointed to the OHI Board as of Jan. 1. Prasad is a practicing internist who specializes in nephrology. He has been active on the Strategic Planning Committee and Medical Staff Strategic Planning Advisory Council.
Mike Ross, a current member of the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation Board, was appointed chairman of the Foundation Board and a member of the OHI Board of Trustees. As chairman, he succeeds Robert Rosowski, of Northville, who recently stepped down after a 16-year run.
Rosowski provided the vision for development of the Foundation during his tenure and set the stage for the future, assisting in the merging of several Oakwood Foundation boards into one. He led numerous campaigns, securing more than $100 million in funds over the years. Rosowski will remain a member of the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation Board as well as the OHI Board of Trustees.
Ross has been an Oakwood Healthcare Foundation Board member since 2003. He and his wife, Lynn, reside in Birmingham.
Cheryl Phillips-Thill, of Northville, was appointed to the Oakwood Healthcare System Board of Trustees. The vice president of the Masco Corp. Foundation, Thill was a former member of the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation Board since 2003. She also led donor stewardship efforts for the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation.
Dr. Neelam Kumar, a pathologist, was appointed to the Oakwood Healthcare System Board of Trustees in addition to her role on the Oakwood Healthcare Foundation Board where she has been a member for the past five years and is now vice chairwoman. Kumar is also an Oakwood Physician Leadership Academy graduate and a member of the Board Strategic Planning Committee. She lives in Ann Arbor.
