HEIGHTS — A 3-year-old boy remains in the hospital after falling from a second floor window in Dearborn Heights on Feb. 20, police personnel confirmed.

The child, whose identity was not released, was found about 1:40 p.m. that day unresponsive on the ground with a window screen next to him in the 4200 block of Monroe, according to published reports. He suffered severe injuries to his head and face.

Dearborn Heights police have not released information about the child because he is a minor.

According to published reports, the parents informed emergency crews that the second floor window was shut and they don’t know how the boy opened it. The child reportedly fell 12 to 15 feet to the ground.

Police officials did not return phone calls seeking comment by press time.
