Award offered in disappearance of man found dead in landfill

RIVERVIEW – A $2,500 reward is being offered for information about the disappearance of a man whose body was found in the Riverview Land Preserve.

Crime Stoppers of Michigan is offering a $2,500 reward for information leading to the arrest of anyone involved in the death of Derek Golden, 29, of Grosse Pointe Park.

Golden’s body was discovered about 12:30 p.m. March 26 in an area of the landfill used for the disposal of household demolition waste.

Golden had been missing since Dec. 9. His 2006 Subaru Tribeca was later found in Detroit.

Anyone with details is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP or 1-800-773-2587. All calls are anonymous.
