DEARBORN – The Edsel Ford High School Performing Arts Department will present the Rodgers and Hart classic musical “Babes in Arms” Thursday through Saturday in the school auditorium.
Performance times are 7 p.m. all three days with a 3 p.m. matinee Saturday. Advance tickets are $6 for students and $8 general admission; tickets at the door are $8 for students and $10 general admission.
Box office hours are 2:30 to 6 p.m. through Wednesday. Advance sale hours Thursday and Friday will be 2:30 to 4 p.m.; regular ticket sales begin at 6 p.m. The box office will open one hour before each performance Saturday.
Set at a summer stock theater, the plot concerns a group of young apprentices and their conviction to mount the original revue they’ve created while dodging the underhanded attempts of the surly theater owner to squash their efforts at every turn.
“Babes in Arms” is written by the team of Richard Rodgers and Lorenz Hart. It premiered on Broadway in 1937. EFHS will present the 1959 version revised by George Oppenheimer.
Students from Snow Elementary, O.L. Smith Middle School and other Dearborn Public Schools will be featured in the chorus and dance scenes of this fun-for-all production.
Edsel Ford High School is at 20601 Rotunda Drive.
