DEARBORN – Residents interested in following the discussion on the city’s proposed Fiscal Year 2014 budget can review the updated topics for the remaining workshops.

Dates include the public hearing on the budget, which is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. May 23 in the City Council Chambers. The public is invited to give comments and ask questions about the proposed budget at this hearing.
The council is scheduled to adopt the proposed budget at a public meeting at 7 p.m. May 28 in the Council Chambers. The FY2014 budget begins July 1 and ends June 30, 2014.
Leading up to the budget hearing and adoption are workshops between Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. and his administration and the City Council.
All budget workshops are at 5:30 p.m. in the Mayor’s Conference Room on the second floor of the east wing of City Hall.
The remaining tentative schedule, subject to change by the City Council is:
May 8. Topics: 19th District Court and Inspection Services Benchmarking Request for Proposals.
May 15. Topics: Historical Museum, Public Works, including street sweeping, county and state roads cleanup policies and enforcement, and potential outsourcing opportunities in the future.
