Work crews staffed by volunteer Home Depot and Masco Corp. associates, under the supervision of Tom Gibbons from Team Depot based at the Telegraph-Goddard Road store, and Masco’s Susan Sabo, got an early start Thursday on a day-long project to repaint the historic buildings and railroad cars at Heritage Park, 12111 Pardee Road. Gibbons said that at least 70 volunteers were expected, to include friends from Team Depot in Ohio, the city of Taylor, and local businesses to include Walmart, which catered the event. Gibbons said that painting the park was one of many community projects sponsored by the home improvement chain, and summer vacation plans include work at a veteran’s housing complex.
