Some of the nearly two dozen volunteers got their hands dirty May 18 for a flower-planting day to spruce up public patches along Fort Street and Southfield Road. Mayor Patricia Diaz Krause said her office coordinated the spring-into-action event along with the Lincoln Park Downtown Development Authority. City staff, local businesses, friends and others including Madhu Oberoi (left), Shari Nemcheck, Todd Galley, Don Van Cleave and Kelley Galley planted hundreds of flowers in front of City Hall, the Lincoln Park Historical Museum and other key downtown areas.
