Disposal options for those affected by basement flooding

July 10, 2013 By Times-Herald Newspapers Leave a Comment

DEARBORN –  To assist residents who experienced basement flooding during this week’s rains, the city of Dearborn offers additional options for timely disposal of items affected by water.

Residents who experienced basement flooding and might need a special curbside pickup of debris or ruined materials are asked to call Residential Services at 313-515-2126 for a quick evaluation of their situation.

Homeowners who want to throw away items not normally picked up at the curb can take them to the DPW Yard, 2951 Greenfield, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday for free disposal.

The DPW Yard also will be open for free disposal from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. July 20, its regularly scheduled date for July. The DPW Yard is open on the third Saturday of every month.

Residents must be able to carry unwanted items from their vehicles. There is no assistance at the yard.

No hazardous materials are accepted at the yard or at the curb.
