LINCOLN PARK — Police continue investigating a fatal accident that took the life of a 52-year-old Lincoln Park woman riding a bicycle.

Mary Dolores Waters was riding a bicycle across Southfield Road near Electric Avenue shortly before 9 p.m. Sept. 20, when she was struck by a 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by a 55-year-old Lincoln Park man.

According to police, Waters was taken to Oakwood Southshore Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.

Investigators and the Downriver Fatal Crash Team examined the scene and are investigating. The Tahoe was impounded by investigators and the driver was taken to the police station for a statement. There was no evidence of drug or alcohol involvement and the driver was not arrested.
