TAYLOR — Police are investigating a rash of spray-painted vandalism that targeted a neighborhood during an overnight spree.

Several residents of Weddel Street — near the intersection of Allen Road and Dix — reported yellow paint that had been sprayed on vehicles, street signs and the street itself.

In one instance, the suspect spray-painted a racist term along the driver’s side of a parked vehicle. Other complaints included spray paint that covered the license plate of a Cadillac, the words “for sale” on the door of another car, and the name “Delo” on the street.

Victims told police they believed the damage was done sometime between 11:30 p.m. Sept. 21 and 1:45 a.m. Sept. 22.

The targeted vehicles were parked in the 16300 through 16900 blocks of Wedell. Police are investigating.
