TAYLOR – Syndicated Smooth Jazz Network Morning Show host Sandy Kovach will emcee the 2013 Information Center Gala Experience and Silent Auction Thursday at Crystal Gardens, 16703 Fort St., Southgate.
The Information Center will celebrate 38 years of community service with a VIP reception, dinner and silent auction. Entertainment will be provided by Sin Hielo, a new musical project that starts with guitarists Wayne Gerard and Sean Blackman — and often includes other accomplished guest artists — and tours the nation. The band is based in Detroit, and has created a new sound of Latin/jazz/rock.
Tickets are $75 and may be purchased by phone until Oct. 4. For ticket or sponsorship information, contact Lori Stevenson at 734-282-7171.
Funds raised from sponsorships, advertisements and the silent auction support the information Center’s programs and services throughout 2013 and beyond.
Kovach’s career spans the radio dial from local vintage radio stations WLLZ-FM 98.7 , WVMV-FM 98.7, WMGC-FM 105.1 and most recently she can be heard on the nationally syndicated Smooth Jazz Network along with jazz musician Kenny G. Kovach also is on national TV with the eScapes Television Network and is featured locally in Detroit as the voice of Detroit Public Television.
“We’re thrilled to have Sandy Kovach as our guest emcee this year,” Edward D’Angelo, president and CEO of The Information Center. “Sandy is a talented national radio personality and she’s very connected to the community here in southeastern Michigan. We are looking forward to having a lot of fun at this annual fundraising event while supporting the very important efforts of our staff and volunteers to help people who need our help.”
