Despite the rain, Steve Noles and his 4-year-old daughter, Sydney, search for the perfect pumpkin during the Dearborn/Melvindale Fire Department’s pumpkin patch Saturday. Firefighters at Station No. 2, 19800 Outer Drive in Dearborn, entertained attendees with free hot dogs, cider, donuts, face painters and a fire truck, which was available for anyone to sit in and touch. Firefighter Steve Worden said the event ran Oct. 19, 20, 26 and 27. Pumpkins sold for $5 and the proceeds went to the firefighters’ Burn Drive, which supports burned and sick children.
