RIVERVIEW — Voters face a simplified ballot this election.

Five candidates are looking to retain or obtain three seats on the city council. No other positions or proposals are on the ballot this election. The remaining half of the council seats, along with the mayor, won’t be voted on until 2015.

Councilmen David Ryan, Andrew Swift and James Trombley are up for re-election. Swift and Trombley both completed full terms in office, but Ryan replaced a councilor who moved away from the city and spent about a year and a half on the council.

Dean Workman and James Makowski are vying for a spot on the council. Workman is a retired Riverview police chief and spent 10 years as city manager. Makowski is trial attorney who ran unsuccessfully for school board trustee position.
