Mayor Rick Sollars (second from right), surrounded by family including wife Alicia, daughter Peyton and sons Carson and Ashton, prepares to take the oath of office Thursday administered by 23rd District Court Judge Geno Salomone (left). A crowded banquet room at Lakes of Taylor held hundreds of supporters who welcomed virtually a new slate of elected officials: Sollars, Treasurer Edward Bourassa, Clerk Cynthia Bower and Councilors Linda Parker-Craig, Angela Croft, Alex Garza, Charley Johnson, Tim Wooley and Daniel Bzura. Councilwoman Linda Roberts was absent and will be sworn in at the next city council meeting. “We get to start fresh,” Sollars said of the mostly rookie leadership. “We can set our differences aside and work and live together.”
