The Dearborn Allied War Veterans Council’s 2013 Veteran of the Year Ray Mantuck (center) speaks during the city’s Veterans Day ceremony, held in the city council chambers Nov. 11. Mantuck, also a retired Dearborn firefighter, told the audience he was honored to receive the award and that Veterans Day “is not the day to honor one veteran, but all veterans.” Mayor John O’Reilly Jr. (left), Council Chaplain Thomas Houle and DAWVC Commander Nancy Dlugokenski are seated behind Mantuck.
