Dearborn Holiday Choral Festival 2012 featured Dearborn’s premier choirs, Vanguard Voices and Dearborn Community Chorus, accompanied by the Dearborn Symphony Chamber Orchestra. The 2013 Dearborn Holiday Choral Festival will be at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave., Dearborn.

DEARBORN — Vanguard Voices and Dearborn Community Chorus will celebrate the season at the Dearborn Holiday Choral Festival at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

The combined choirs, joined by the Dearborn Symphony Chamber Orchestra, will perform the music from Steven Errante’s “The Boar’s Head Festival.” The presentation will feature all of the solos, choruses and audience-participation carols from the familiar pageant produced by Cherry Hill Presbyterian Church.

The Dearborn Community Chorus will perform seasonal selections including “Sweet Was the Song” (Robert H. Young), “Breath of Heaven” (Amy Grant) and “Run to the Manger” (Kirby Shaw). Vanguard Voices will present “Hodie Christus Natus Est” (G.P. da Palestrina), “A Hymn to the Virgin” (Benjamin Britten) and “Three Kings” (Healey Willan).

The Vanguard Male Chorus will sing carols in the lobby from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m.

Reserved tickets, priced at $18, $15, $11, and $6 (student) are available at the Ford Center box office — which is open Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. — calling 313-943-2354 or going to www.dearborntheater.com.

Dearborn Community Chorus, directed by Marcus LaPratt, and Vanguard Voices, directed by G. Kevin Dewey, are sponsored by the Dearborn Recreation & Parks Department. The Holiday Choral Festival receives support from the Dearborn Community Fund.
