DEARBORN – A limited number of free tickets are available for the Tigers Kids Rally at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center Jan. 23 as part of the 2014 Detroit Tigers Winter Caravan.

Tickets can be picked up, while supplies last, at the Ford Center box office, 15801 Michigan Ave. Box office hours are 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday.

Tickets are needed for admission to the Tigers Kids Rally. Doors will open at 3:30 p.m. for the 4:30-6 p.m. program.

The Winter Caravan includes a visit by select Tigers players as they continue their tradition of traveling across the region to build pre-season baseball excitement with fans of all ages.

The event includes an interactive program featuring Tigers mascot Paws and a brief performance by Radio Disney in the Michael A. Guido Theater inside the center.

Other highlights will include face painting, crafts and give-away items for children who attend. Every child will receive a Strikeout Bullying wristband, as the interactive rally is the kickoff of the Tigers’ 2014 Strikeout Bullying campaign.

Refreshments will be available for purchase.

This marks the 12th anniversary of the Winter Caravan, which has logged more than 15,000 miles and made more than 350 stops since its first journey in 2003.

Dearborn is one stop along the Winter Caravan lineup of appearances on Jan 23 and 24. Two buses and an additional dozen vehicles will travel through Detroit and around the state.
