DEARBORN — The Police Department is still asking for help from the community in determining just what caused a stabbing and who committed the act.

The incident occurred about 2:15 a.m. Feb. 16 when police responded to the parking lot north of Michigan Avenue between Neckel and Schaefer on a report of an injured man and discovered a 24-year-old Southfield resident bleeding heavily from multiple stab wounds.

The man was transported to a local hospital where he was initially listed in stable but is now in critical condition.

No suspect information has been released and Police Chief Ronald Haddad said that the investigation is ongoing.

He added that anyone who was in the area and witnessed the altercation or knows anything about the assault is asked to call Dearborn police at 313-943-2241 or their tip line at 313-943-3012.

“Citizen tips are vitally important for the successful identification of suspects and we urge the public to be proactive with their help in this case,” Haddad said.
