DEARBORN — ACCESS didn’t have to look far to fill the role of chief operating officer.
The human services nonprofit announced last week that it promoted Director of Business Operations Lina Hourani Harajli to fill the position.
Harajli has been with ACCESS as a member of the Finance Department since 2000 and served as director since 2010. Prior to that, she worked in the private sector for more than 12 years.
As COO, Harajli will oversee all ACCESS program areas, along with communications and marketing, human resources, facilities, and information and technology.
She said she was surprised and happy to be be offered the new role.
“I am honored and thrilled to be chosen to support the efforts of such a dedicated and passionate team that works diligently to assist, improve and empower those in need each and every day,” Harajli said.
Harajli said she plans to focus on increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of ACCESS and hopes to continue using innovative solutions to help the community.
ACCESS Executive Director Hassan Jaber said he was confident the right hire was made.
“Lina’s passion for the mission of ACCESS and her unique approach to team building and system implementation, with a distinct focus on operational excellence, will allow us to make an even greater impact on the communities that we serve,” Jaber said.
In her time with ACCESS, Harajli has led the migration of the entire organization to a cloud-based IT infrastructure, spearheaded the implementation of an integrated health reimbursement arrangement and helped lead several facility renovations, including the current Arab American National Museum expansion.
