A star-studded grand opening for Fan Favorites, a sports collectibles and memorabilia shop that recently moved into Taylor Sportsplex, 13333 Telegraph, included local officials and former Detroit Tigers pitcher Denny McLain, cutting the ribbon with owner Patty Fritz-Saenz. City officials at the opening on April 5 included Mayor Rick Sollars, Clerk Cindy Bower, Treasurer Edward Bourassa and Councilman Alex Garza. McLain, a member of the 1968 world championship team, was the last major league pitcher to win 30 games in a season. Fan Favorites offers a variety of autographed jerseys, balls and other sports items. For information on the store call 313-729-7451.
