TAYLOR — A 67-year-old Taylor man was charged with multiple counts of criminal sexual activity for allegedly assaulting four teen girls, ages 13 to 15.

Bennie Ray Grimes was arraigned on April 11 before 23rd District Court Judge William Sutherland with 35 counts for having sexually assaulted, photographed and videotaped the girls.

According to police reports, investigators were contacted on April 7 by Melvindale police after a report had been filed with that department of crimes committed in Taylor. At least one of the girls subjected to the alleged assaults resides in Melvindale.

Charges against Grimes included multiple counts of first- and second-degree criminal sexual assault, child sexual abusive activity, and using computers to commit crimes. Police and prosecutors said Grimes assaulted, videotaped and photographed four girls engaged in various sexual acts.

Grimes remained in custody without bond. A preliminary examination is scheduled for Monday in 23rd District Court.
