DEARBORN – Music with the theme of “From Sea to Shining Sea — Songs from the U.S.A.” will fill the air when the Dearborn Community Chorus presents its annual Spring Concert at 7 p.m. Saturday at the Ford Community & Performing Arts Center, 15801 Michigan Ave.

The 80-member chorus, under the direction of Marcus LaPratt, will perform a wide range of songs from patriotic, spiritual, to American classics. Selections will include: “America, The Beautiful,” “Roll, Jordan, Roll,” “Rhythm of Life,” and songs by Gershwin and Porter, to name a few.
In addition, the concert will feature a guest appearance by the Spring Mills Honors Choir from Huron Valley Schools under the direction of Sylvia LaPratt.
The repertoire for this concert will be the same performed by DCC in July as it represents Dearborn and the United States at the World Choir Games in Riga, Latvia.

The group rehearses weekly from September through May and presents two major performances at the Ford Center in December and May. DCC also performs for community events, and entertains at area senior facilities.
