ALLEN PARK — While rumors fly and the speculation thickens, city officials remain tight lipped about the abrupt departure of Emergency Manager Joyce Parker’s assistant.

Dorcas McCreary left the office suddenly June 4.

McCreary began working for the state of Michigan as an assistant to the emergency manager in 2010. She worked along side Parker in Ecorse.

According to someone in government, there was reportedly a violation in Ecorse, which was discovered when the pair left. Parker proceeded to Allen Park in October 2012. McCreary joined her a couple months later.

Prior to working for the state, McCreary worked at General Motors Corp. and as a teacher for National Heritage Academies.

Parker declined comment on why her assistant left, and city officials are saying that only McCreary and Parker know why she is gone.
